To qualify, you need to be a South African citizen. Single parent&#8217; yearly income can&#8217;t exceed R52,800. If you&#8217;re married, the total income for both of you shouldn&#8217;t go over R105,600 per year. You can only apply by visiting the nearest South African Social Security Agency (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sassa.gov.za\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.sassa.gov.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SASSA<\/a><\/strong>) office in your area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Here are the documents you will need to apply for the SASSA child grant.\n<ul>\n<li>Your South African ID and the child\u2019s birth certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They will give you the application form, which you&#8217;ll need to fill out with a SASSA worker present. Only you or a SASSA worker can fill it out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They&#8217;ll give you a receipt as proof that you applied.
